Pharmacy Buyer/Technician Supervisor, under the supervision of a license pharmacist, assist in the various activities of the pharmacy department. The Pharmacy Buyer/Technician Supervisor is also a licensed Pharmacy Technician, who assists the pharmacists in preparing and distributing medications, maintaining the drug inventory and maintenance of records. Pharmacy Technicians function in accordance with standard written procedures, guidelines and state and federal regulations. They do not perform duties that can legally be performed only by a registered pharmacist. The Pharmacy Buyer/Technician Supervisor is responsible for the procuring of pharmaceuticals under the direction of the Director of Pharmacy. The Pharmacy Buyer/Technician Supervisor creates and maintains the technician schedule. The Pharmacy Buyer/Technician Supervisor participates in strategic planning with the Pharmacy Leadership team to implement changes necessary to ensure efficient workflows in the centralized & decentralized pharmacy operations. The Pharmacy Buyer/Technician Supervisor is responsible for coordinating training of all newly hired Pharmacy Technicians and sign off of training competencies for technicians. The Pharmacy Buyer/Technician Supervisor supervises all Pharmacy Technicians under the direction of the licensed pharmacists on staff.
