This position is responsible for driving change to improve patient outcomes, operational workflows, and medication safety through the support and maintenance of pharmacy informatics systems. This position manages the design, analysis, implementation, and creation of strategies for enhancing the medication use process and usability of the electronic medical record (EMR) supporting pharmacy. This position serves as a liaison for pharmacy informatics matters to promote a collaborative, open, and inclusive work environment within a highly matrixed organization. The pharmacy informaticist needs to be knowledgeable in numerous aspects of pharmacy information systems and maintain a depth and breadth of clinical and management knowledge to keep abreast of current issues within healthcare and the practice of pharmacy. In addition, the pharmacy informaticist needs to be able to effectively prioritize work and work independently. - Drives, supports and manages multidisciplinary project teams in the development, delivery and enhancement of clinical applications for pharmacy that are designed to improve the safe, effective and clinically appropriate use of medications. - Establishes quality objectives, milestones, and benchmarks, and develops and implements effective tools to measure developmental plans and implementation performance against these standards. -Collaborates with education team to develop and improve training materials related to changes and upgrades in the existing EMR and clinical application systems. Develops and implements communication and education plan in conjunction with clinical educators and pharmacy leadership. - Supports key stakeholders in all areas and at all levels in defining and designing requirements, and implementation and support of clinical applications for pharmacy. Guides pharmacy in the innovative use of emerging technologies to capture operational efficiencies and successfully meet business objectives. - Responds to and provides resolution of information technology issues. Identifies opportunities for improvement of pharmacy operations. Using clinical knowledge of health care, manages analysis of medication use process and identifies information technology solutions to drive clinical transformation. - Acts as a change agent. Participates in creating and designing a technical vision and strategic plan which includes the continuous assessment and maintenance of the information technology support systems of clinical pharmacy services. Supports change and participates in the development, interpretation, implementation and evaluation of the goals/objectives and quality management activities of the department. Develops, monitors and implements quality improvement initiatives and activities.

Advanced degree or equivalent working knowledge in pharmacy.
Significant experience, typically gained through 4+ years relevant experience - Must have a strong background in clinical pharmacy, drug information, information technology and pharmacy operations. - Must have the ability to collect, analyze, and present data from a variety of sources to facilitate continuous improvement in medication use process initiatives. -This position requires demonstrated leadership and project management abilities. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to handle a variety of leadership, decision making, and facilitation activities while maintaining a keen attention to detail and ability to work independently. Excellent oral and written communication skills in group and individual situations is essential. Needs demonstrated facilitation, problem-solving, critical thinking, and human relations abilities.
PGY2 or fellowship in pharmacy informatics. Board certification by the Board of Pharmaceutical Specialties
